The Garden Club’s team of volunteers: Mary Korslund, Audry Truitt, Elvira Fulchino, Chris Klosterman and Yvonne Forte talk about the native plants that have been added to multiple beds around the library, the impact of native plants on the environment, and how bringing wildlife life back into our local gardens creates a counterbalance for climate change.

Granite in the Garden presented by Dave Araneo of Araneo Landworks. Dave will be sharing examples of incorporating granite in outdoor living spaces based on over 40 years of experience designing stone and water features, walkways, stairways, stone paths, rainwater harvesting structures and other creative drainage solutions. He has a deep respect for natural landscapes and is passionate about reconnecting people with the outdoor world.
"Fit To Garden" program encompasses taking care of our bodies as they age or have injuries. At any age, we can take care to prevent injuries, actually. During this program, we'll have some demonstrations of how to adapt your tools, to fit your newly adapted garden.
Rick Roth, Executive Director of the Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team, has had a lifelong interest in wildlife especially reptiles and amphibians. He explains about Cape Ann’s Vernal ponds and how they are critical wetland habitat for countless species.

The State of the Coast report details many of the coastal challenges being faced by 13 coastal zone communities on the North Shore, as well as potential adaptation methods for the future. Sea level rise and storm surge impacts, erosion potential, and saltmarsh migration and restoration will be discussed.

Rockport Garden Club's annual garden tour of 13 private gardens held on July 26-27, 2019. Rockport in Bloom showcased lovely gardens with plein air artists, ocean vistas, as well as sculptures and artwork. Garden Tour proceeds go to many philanthropic and local endeavors; such as Rockport High School scholarships, Open Door Pantry and town beautification projects.
