 Programs Committee 

Our monthly programs feature talks on topics that are of interest to our membership. The program committee meets in late Fall to begin planning for the following calendar year. The club president books the facilities for each monthly program, providing confirmed dates for each month. The committee members then start researching and reaching out to possible speakers. The roster of speakers must be recruited and confirmed by February of the calendar year. 

Individual committee members take on the responsibility for recruiting specific program speakers and obtaining agreement on the fees due. The committee member is then tasked with ensuring that the speaker's requirements are met – for example: audio visual equipment, a laptop, or additional tables for materials. The committee member is also responsible for coordinating with our communications team to market the program – providing content for emails to our members or the public for our programs open to the public, as well as welcoming and introducing the speaker for the event.

For some of our events we hold raffles. The programs committee manages the raffle during the monthly event.

In addition to the monthly programs we are also responsible for identifying and organizing membership workshops and field trips. The committee member responsible for the field trip and our workshop lead coordinate marketing and setting up sign up for the trip and/ or the workshop  working closely with our communications committee. If there is a fee to be collected, we work with the communications committee to set up the purchase in our online store.

The programs committee as a whole works closely with our hospitality team to make sure our programs are well received by our members. We are responsible for the audio-visual equipment set up and coordinate with our communications committee to record the program and make it available on our YouTube channel.
