A Message from the President

Welcome to another year of Rockport Garden Club’s many activities. I am so excited to be a part of our organization as we anticipate another great year of contribution and collaboration with the community of Rockport.

As you take your daily walk, or drive around our neighborhoods, remember that it is your assistance and dedication to this club that help to make our communities a beautiful space to call home.  Over the course of the year, we have a number of opportunities for you to get involved! We encourage you to help us put Rockport in Bloom, or serve meals through the Cape Ann Open Door. We will also be promoting “green education” through our scholarship program.

With these as just a few examples of items on our agenda, 2017 is set to be a big year for our group, so we will need everyone to invest their time and hearts to our mission. Our ambition is vast, and we are eager to beautify our town gardens, have successful fundraising events in May and July, generate thoughtful conversation at our monthly meetings, and partake in community services that will leave a lasting impact.

Our hope, in 2017, is that we are able to utilize the Garden Club to give back in a meaningful way, and that through those endeavors, each and every one of you feels more connected and invested to each other and the Rockport community.

In the coming pages, you will find a guide to involvement. You can use this “yearbook” as a way of identifying a committee that interests you. See what piques your interest, and get in touch with the committee Chairperson. Don’t feel like you have to pick a single thing, as we will encourage you to explore your options. We welcome and appreciate your unique talents, experience, suggestions, and time. If you cannot or do not garden, perhaps you know your way around a computer, have administrative/organizational skills, or can assist us with hosting our fundraising events this year.

There are so many amazing ways to get involved. I hope you’ll join us as we work together to make this the best year for the Garden Club yet!
